MY PROCESS

PLAY
I like to approach all projects with an open mind. To come up with my best ideas the first stage of my process is to read the brief, then quickly move to paper to sketch, try new materials, generate mind maps and create word associations.

RESEARCH
At this stage I look far and wide for inspiration and ideas, ranging from type, illustration, art, film, comics, science, technology and music. This usually feeds into creating new work or in focusing the work created in the previous stage. This stage also gives me the chance to step back a bit and approach the brief from a fresher perspective.

ITERATE
Here I once again re-read the brief. I like to develop at least two concepts to a high level before focusing my attention solely on one approach. I then make lots of meaningful design iterations to arrive at the best solution to the brief.

POLISH
My meticulous attention to detail and production value come into play in this stage of the design process. I want my design work to have an extremely high presentation standard, and this stage is where I obsess over getting things as sharp and polished as they can be.
